Something finally bloomed!

Lubbock, TX(Zone 7a)

About 20 varieties of MG were planted in pots along the base of a trellis. Some of them bloomed, but about 4 or 5 containers never did anything. I took the non-blooming containers to the other end of the trellis and transplanted something else into the same soil. Low and behold a MG sprouted and sent out vines. When blooms finally came out I was pleased to see a 4" Lilac bloom.

I did not leave MG markers in place, but know that one of the pots had been planted with Wedding Bells MG seeds. The vines have heart shaped leaves and blooms have yellow throats, typical of tri-color. So my guess is Wedding Bells. Any other ideas?

Perry - the first picture shows Ipomoea tricolor cultivar "Wedding Bells"...the second photo shows Wedding Bells in the lower left and all 3 blooms along the right side, but the bloom in the center is an Ipomoea nil...most likely a Rose or a Chocolate of some type...

Nice blooms and healthy looking plants...

Ron, thanks for confirming my "guesstimate" of Wedding Bells MG. The bloom you identified as a 'rose or chocolate' comes out of a pot marked as Rose Silk, probably from some of Emma Grace's seed. Although roughed up by the wind, here's a close-up photo of the Rose Silk JMG.
