Hi Everybody,
I'm going to consider all winter a pond for this spring, bu t now it's just a consideration. I would like though if I could
for everybody to post pictures here of their water gardens. Or is there a thread somewhere like that.
I want to see your flower pot water gardens. Little water gardens, what ever they may be.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Kathy ann and welcome! I don't anything of what you're looking for but wish you luck!
Thanks, I want to see pictures of any water garden though, I really liked Judy's above the ground water garden that her DH made for her.
Soooo, any water garden, I'd love to see a picture of.

Kathy_ann - Here's a photo of my little pre-formed pond that I purchased from Home Depot this summer for about $30. It is 38" in diameter and 15" tall. It has 3 plant shelves in it as well. It is so small that I consider it more of a container water garden. But I love it and may get another one because the price is so reasonable.
I've had great success so far as a new water gardener since July. It is a lot easier than I thought it would be to grow blooming "tropical" water lilies and now I am growing "hardy" water lilies (also purchased from HD). The key is fertilizing regularly during the growing months. I will be buying a large aquarium heater for it before the weather gets cold here. (Tropical water lilies don't survive in water temps below 65-60 degrees.)
A great website that has been very helpful to me is:

I don't have fish in mine. But nature has provided me with dragonfly larve. various waterbugs, and tadpoles (frogs). Also numerous varieties of snail!
I've enjoyed my little pond the past few months and am hooked on water gardening!
Good luck finding your little slice of water gardening heaven!

How neat, is that a lotus in there flowering?
very pretty
thanks for posting your picture
Actually it's a Red Flame evening blooming tropical water lily. I also have Josephine (white flowers) and Lindsay Woods (purple flowers) in this little pond. The Josephine blooms constantly. Lindsay Woods about once a week a bloom will appear. The Red Flame hasn't bloomed as much, but I also got it about a month and a half ago, so it may not be established yet. Plus the weather is cooling at night, so the tropical water lily growth is slowing down preparing for winter. (My pond photo was taken a month ago.)
Glad you enjoyed my little water garden photo. Surprisingly, it's been one of the cheapest gardens I've added to my yard this year! I just love it! :-)
I'm still new at this gardening thing myself and especially at ponding. After seeing all the neat ponds and with having some frogs around here I decided to give it a try. I'm not planning on getting fish, just some plants. I started mine this morning and tomorrow will work on putting in the pump. I can't wait to see the frogs swimming in it.
Hi Kathy_Ann
Glad to hear you are interested in ponds. Check your area for a Pond Society. The people there will be more than happy to show their ponds and answer questions about yours.
Here is a picture of my pond and if you are interested I am in the process of posting all the pictures that led up to this stage.

Sorry I can't get pictures to upload today. Will try later.
I love all your ponds, makes me wish I could have a bigger one but I'm kinda limited here since it's not my property. Don't want to over do it (as if I haven't already) . Mr Kermit was swimming in it this morning so I was all excited. I don't have any plants in there yet so I put other things in there for him to climb up on. Gotta go figure out how to put the pump in. My DH has been gone so I'm doing this myself!
Welcome to the world of ponds Kathy_Ann!
It don't matter how small or large the pond. They are very relaxing. unless way too big, and you spend all your time on the pond. I have a little trouble getting water plants before the weather gets warm enough to get the algae bloom going full blast. But that is just a zone problem. After the pond plants get going the pond clears up and it's ok till next spring.
