I've had great success so far as a new water gardener since July. It is a lot easier than I thought it would be to grow blooming "tropical" water lilies and now I am growing "hardy" water lilies (also purchased from HD). The key is fertilizing regularly during the growing months. I will be buying a large aquarium heater for it before the weather gets cold here. (Tropical water lilies don't survive in water temps below 65-60 degrees.)

I don't have fish in mine. But nature has provided me with dragonfly larve. various waterbugs, and tadpoles (frogs). Also numerous varieties of snail!

I've enjoyed my little pond the past few months and am hooked on water gardening!
