I have 3 evergreen trees that are 7 ft. tall or more. They were planted 4-5 yrs. ago & have not looked that well. Also they have bag worms on them (dormant right now). A landscaper came out & told me that the original landscape person who planted the trees should not have planted them directly in the ground since our yard is wet much of the year. He said that evergreens don't like wetness & showed us the neighbor's evergreen trees who planted his 3 yrs. ago. He had brought in a bunch of top soil & planted the trees in that. Plus they were Norway evergreens. The new landscaper said we should stick to Maple trees or other similar trees. What do you think? Also about the Bag Worms??
Thanks for any input.
Evergreens have to go?
I would think they may do alright where they are if it is not too terribly boggy. I would leave the Norway spruce and see what happens. You can spray the bagworms with horticultural oil I think.
