He looks like some kind of fly to me...head really isn't bee-like in my opinion.

Any ideas?

Maybe one of the Scuttle flies, Phoridae, but the legs look different

Thanks ya'll...I'll start digging as soon as this nasty cold goes away...today is the first time in 2 days that I felt like sitting here at all...just did the 'necessary' stuff.
