OK. So i am not winning any good mommy awards...
I have several seedlings that i started out in peat six packs many, many months ago. They are looking great, and at least once a day i think to myself that i should pot them up (really i do). They are 6-10 inches tall and have stalks as thick as a child's marker.
They sure deal well with being root bound! I am curious if being root bound and stunted will cause them to Y at a shorter height or just keep them from flowering all together. I really do plan to pot them up any day now. i am just wondering what would happen if i didn't.
Bonsai Brugs
Oh Melissa, I am an expert on rootbound brugs. LOL. I am always about to pot them up and never get to it. I have kept them alive in those red cups I use for 3 years, LOL. Very sad looking but alive. I have had them bloom in 1 gallon cans, sad looking but blooming. But I rarely fertilized them and my watering can be hit or miss at times. I do find if you fertilize a lot in small pots and make sure they are watered regulary they actually can do quite well and not look so sad.
And even if so retarded in growth, as soon as I pot them up in a bigger pot they take off like they were never tortured so. As far as Ying earlier, I do not think esp if starved like mine are but they can Y shorter for sure.
I just went out and took a picture of my 3 year old seedlings! The plastic cups are so faded now and the bottoms are so brittle they are cracking. I think I will repot them today and let you know how they do. LOL
Kell, since the seeds came from you perhaps they are genetically predisposed to take neglect well. LOL
LOL Melissa, are those the doubles? I have so many plants, I lose them in this yard. I just had 2 cable guys come to fix the cable on the TV and they could not walk to the side of the house to get to the wiring because of all my potted plants. I had to move so many pots.
And then they were on their way back and they both rubbed a new brug in bud so hard I almost punched them but it really was not their fault. I need to stake that brug up. LOL
They wanted to know if I sold plants. LOL.
Yes, they are the doubles (hopefully).
Did you tell your cable guys that you aren't really a plant dealer, more of a pusher. LOL
LOL Melissa!
