CLOSED: CLOSED: Moth Cat ID Please?

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

Exactly what kind of hummer moth does this become? It was under a large rock in my yard near the Moonvine. It is about 3+inches long. If you have any links, I would love them too.

Thanks much!!

Click on where it says Sphinx Moths(Sphingidae) and it will page through the pictures they have. There's a lot of variation in the larvae within some of these species, but you can probably find it or come close. Happy hunting!

I appreciate your quick reply Clay, although I would like to find a reference with a photo more like mine, exactly.. (sorry to be so picky).

I was suspecting it to be a White Lined Sphinx, and I have seen a chrysalis ON my Moonvine b4 which looks like it was one of these prior to it's closing in.

The one I found on my MV unfortunatly was already covered in B Wasp larvae.

I would really like some more information on the Caterpillar in my inquiry picture, if anyone can avail.

This is probably the same caterpillar, they just don't all look the same

thinking Pink-spotted Hawk Moth. See the light striping in hte center by the head and appears to have more whitish area around the spots

Pink-spotted sphinx aka Smerinthus cerisyi - aka One-eyed sphinx That's reasonable too
