I sent an e-mail to a guy that knows these bugs pretty good, but haven't heard back from him and it's been a while. So I thought I'd ask around here and see if anyone can ID the species of Rober Fly this one belongs to ?
Thanks,
GD
CLOSED: Does anyone know this Robber Fly
GD,
I think your robber fly is one of the Hanging Thieves in the Genus Diogmites http://bugguide.net/node/view/4600/bgpage
It looks pretty close to Diogmites angustipennis http://bugguide.net/node/view/72787/bgpage
Hanging Thieves huh??? Interesting group name . . . lol
Thanks Ken . . . I checked the links and think you are probably right. My photo seems to have more bright colors, but that may just be the lighting / camera settings.
