I convinced a local nursery to order this one when i saw it on his suppliers list. Finally he got one in and it and at quite a price , so after some haggling I caved and it came home with me today.
According to Brian 'Very rare and hard to find . Very hard to tell from the Mac form until fully grown was introduced a few years back I believe by Alan Galloway'. That's about all I know so far, although I did find one reference somewhere on line that says it has more peltate leaves (Having the stalk attached away from the margin of a leaf, and often in the center of it.)
It seems to be more sturdy than the A. Mac. Var. and has an unusual bend in the stalks but this may be just how this plant was grown.
If anybody has more info I'd appreciate it.
Thanks Neil

Alocasia Odora Variegata
That is one cool-looking ee!!
Congratulations on your find, Neil.
Don't know what you paid for it,
but sure looks worth every penny!!!

I just noticed the price is in the first picture oooops. But I got him to come down $90. Still a lot but I couldn't resist. Today he let me go through his other supplier availability list. Im in a lot of trouble now if he gets everything I mentioned in, but he said he wouldn't hold me to anything.
That is a beauty. Love the stems and it's already getting pups. In Key West, will it grow all winter or go dormant?
Linda, the variegated forms actually seem to do better in the winter here they have a hard time with the summer heat especially if they have leaves with a lot of white and they seem to love our high humidity. The leaf pictured emerging is now out with another following behind fast. The larger ones are now starting to fade a bit. For me that's the hardest part of the variegated ones, they seem only to be able to carry a certain amount of leaves at any one time, one comes up one goes down, whereas my green ones seem to keep growing leaf after leaf.
I visited Key West once, thought I would like to live there. How long have you been there and do you just LOVE it?
I've been here 12 years now, moved from Dublin Ireland to here but am getting ready to relocate to Ft Lauderdale. My partner and I are building a house up there on the water. I've had enough island life for one lifetime.
It would be a tough evacuation before a hurricane.
Four times last year, a lot of people have had enough of it but we got away lightly this year...so far. Thanks to El Nino in the pacific.
Congratulations Neil that is a seriously nice odora!
I much prefer the odora to macro anyway but that one ices the cake!
