seed pod question

I have oodles of seed pods, they are not ripened yet. If I cut them from vine will they ripen or do I have to wait until they ripen on vine? Thanks again for all your help. ~ Sherry

Sherry1961 - The seedpods should preferably look brown and dried like the one in the PlantFiles here

but if the weather is going to freeze hard,then you should pick the most ripened pods leaving about a 6-12 inch piece of stem attached to place in a vase of water in a sunny window to finish ripening indoors...
