what kind is this? It was hanging around on a 6 foot web, in between the house and the grill. The wind knocked down its home, so I imagine it will be busy for a few days!! It isn't a dangerous kind, is it?

No, not unless you're a flying insect! It's an orb weaver in the Araneus genus, like Charlotte. They can repair their webs pretty quickly, probably overnight
