Can someone tell me how to save the seeds from Echiums? I have Echium pininana and E pininana Snowtowers and also Echium tuberculatum?
I can see the seeds (small blk things inside the vicious pods) have tried putting bunches of these flowers into bags and envelopes in hopes that they might fall out naturally, but as of yet no joy.
I know that they have produced seeds as last years have seeded all over, including in a trail where we dragged the large spike up to the end of the garden and the into compost heap.
I have tried prising them out , but it's a painful job, the spikey bits are vicious, and a devil to remove from your skin.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
