I have been looking for different ways to display my african violets and I just wanted to share them with all of you. The first one is placing them in teapots. Each one of them has a wick in them with water in the bottom of the teapot.

Here are a few way I display my AVs
They look great, Jesse! There are so many innovative ways of displaying African Violets, without spending a ton of money on fancy pots. I have some of my trailers in Wine glasses; some in regular red wine glasses and some in champagne flutes. I like they way they all look on a shelf. So different and kinda fancy.

Yes, I love the way they look on the shelves. I like the fact that they are easy to maintain also. I keep all of my minis, episcias, streps and chiritas inside. The rest stay out in the greenhouse. This seems to be working out pretty well too. Here is another shelf of plants that you might find interesting.

That looks really cool too. Isn't it fun mixing them all up in different ways? I really love doing that. Allison is the one that got me started doing that and I think it is really neat.

It sure is ! African violets and Gesneraids are Fun to Grow and Share !
I decided today that I wanted to grow my minis that I have inside in natural light instead of artificial light so I put up a shelf in my window and put them on that. I'm beginning to see a bit of a difference between the ones growing in natural light and those grown in artificial light. When I first got my greenhouse and moved the others outside they started to all look really bad. I was so upset over this and decided to just give up on my AVs. I have not done anything with them in over a week. But today I decided to clean up the greenhouse and throw all of the bad ones away. Boy did I get the shock of a lifetime! All of them had done a 180 and were growing like I've never seen them grow before. They all look so lush and green and I was shocked. I thought they would all be dead by now. I guess they had to get used to natural light and once they did they started to grow, grow, grow. I am so happy with them now. I have more space babies than I know what to do with. I had put down at least a dozen leaves of EverGrace a few months ago and they had done really well. I totally forgot about them and found them hiding under one of my shelves today. They have grown so much that they had pushed a few of the pots up to give them more room to grow. Now I have a big job of repotting all of them. But I'm so happy with all of my AVs now and I can't believe I just wanted to throw them all away. They sure did make me look like a dummy. I will never doubt all my AV sweeties again.
I took a photo of my minis on the new shelf in my livingroom. The photo does not do them justice. I took dozens of photos of them trying to get them to look just right but the flash is bouncing off the white blinds and makes them look a little washed out. But they are all so cute, to me anyway.

Wonderful Jesse ! Yes natural light is the best really ! I have always grown all my Gesneraids in natural light, and many shelves of minis and Av's...
Love your shelf and your plants look great !
