Look what I found....................

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

My husband and I were on a long walk (so we won't feel so guilty tonight when we go out to eat). For a long while I have wanted a mini dog. I was telling him this yet once again explaining that if we had a dog we would have to take long walks everyday and how healthy that would be for us. No sooner was it out of my mouth when the most adorable dog ran up to us all smiles.

Tell me that is not a sign!!

Yeah, a "sign" it belongs to someone! A real cutie!

Kell, pick a breed then get on the net and find rescue sites for that breed in your area. You won't be disappointed. Rescue dogs are terrific because you usually don't have to go through house training and obedience training like you would with a puppy. The smaller breeds are for the most part, very well cared for critters because they are expensive to buy as puppies.

How about this one. He could run you ragged, eh, I mean help you get your exercise.

Ahhhh what a cutie and it's owner has a matching mustache.

I have a small dog, poor baby is fat 'cause I don't walk her enough despite my good intentions! (owner is too...sigh..)

Brigham City, UT(Zone 5b)

Kell, I must say, I like the first one. hehe

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Felicia, your dog is a cutie for sure, I could play dress up all day and get over the fact I never had a baby daughter to play dress up dolls with. My boy complained so when I dressed him in PINK bows.

LOL Mary, yours is so cute too! Wasn't this the breed that was on Fraser?

You can ask Sue, I have been going around and around trying to find the right mini dog for me. Sue's mini-poodle has been in the running too. She is so adorable.

I will look around X.......my DH said over dinner I could get one of these as soon as I finish (start and finish) our home remodel which I am dragging on. I rather play in the garden.

But this dog just grabbed me. And she looks just like her owner. LOL How funny is this?

Anyway, the yard we were passing had a huge in flower brug I was going to take a picture of to share when the pup ran over to us giving us such puppy love. I forgot to take a pic of the brug. LOL There are some things better than a brug.

Doesn't she look like a squeezable stuffed animal?

She's really cute. I'd like some little foo-foo dog that would be content to have me carry her around and cuddle her.

My boy is the same breed as the one that was on Fraser. He's just as smart and just as naughty as most Jack Russell Terriers. They're known as thugs in clown suits to some people, and I'd have a hard time argueing with them. They're fun though.

My friend had a Llasa or Shitz that looked just like that beautiful little doggie. That little furry face could steal your heart.

Kell,

You gots to get a Shih Tzu..... We have Archie and he is a Velcro Dog.....you know that that is......A dog that sticks to you all the time where ever you are. He is just so full of love that it's unbelievable. He's 12lbs and has his own traveling bag. I carry him in the bag, it's a shoulder bag, everywhere. We go shopping, the vet, visiting etc. All that I have to do it go near the spare room where I keep the bag and he goes nuts. I put the bag on the floor and he runs and jumps in. Not too anxious....!!!!

In fact, he looks just like you admirer in the first pix.

Go for it.

Whatever it is, Ted, it's adorable. (poodle, schnauser, shih tsu mix?)

Kingston, OK(Zone 7a)

Just like you I found in on the street corner. She stayed there all day until I felt sorry for her and brought her home. Looks like a minatue cocker.

Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Well who could say no to that face! Love the black with white beard and brows!

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

Rita,

My neighbors have a couple of dogs that color and with large ears. Do you know what breed it is? They are not friendly at all.

Ted, that under-bit sure says Shih to me.

Anyway as long as they are loved....

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Definitely lots of cute and loved pets here.

Kell, I thought you had decided that when you got a dog it would be a Carin Terrier.......have you changed your mind?

Northern California, United States(Zone 9a)

Terriers are natural diggers and unless I have a designated hole I need for a plant, personally I don't need extra ones in the garden LOL
Get a no-shed hypoallergenic dog, that's my vote. ☺☺

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh my, a dog parade. Such great fun. I love them all. LOL. Too cute for sure.

Well, my DH said I can't have a dog till I show him I can take care of myself and finish the house remodel. LOL. I have wanted one for a long while.

Frannie, I did want a Cairn Terrier. My brother has the cutest one ever. But he talks too much.

How did you post a pic Tussee? I had given up!

So is your doll Winston a Shih Tzu too?

Let me try again to post Roger, my brothers Cairn Terrier who is the one that talks too much. LOL Hap!

I could take all of these puppies and thoroughly enjoy. We have 3 at this time, and yes, Winston is a Shih Tzu. I had to retry the photo several times.

You have 3 Shih Tzus??? So tell me all, the good, the bad and the ugly! I have never had a dog in my life. I am a cat person. Always have been. Though as a child my constant companion was a blonde cocker spaniel named Puff who belonged to our next door neighbor. He lived at my house with me though. I would torture him and he still adored me. I remember even dressing him up. LOL

Here is the love of my life...........

Your picture didn't come thru Kell. I have two Shih Tzu, Winston and Rosebud, and then Daisy, a golden retriever. I love small dogs but my Sweetheart always wanted a golden so I surprised him three years ago at Christmas with Daisy. She is so smart and such a good puppy. Because of my love of small puppies, I would only buy Shih Tzu's again should I ever want another puppy. They are well tempered, smart, make great lap puppies, and I look for the smallest I can find so I can easily carry them around.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

That was one thing I noticed, the one in my picture is big. But I love that face. LOL. The breeder is 3 hours from here. I was thinking if we get a small one I could hide it in my clothes on our travels.

The picture function seems to be hit or miss.

You are blessed with a beautiful kitty so at least you have her until the right time comes for a puppy. Our animals are all important to us, so we search out the best we can find. Example: A leading breeder of goldens had an adorable litter of puppies, but when I searched the web for people who knew of him and his puppies, I learned his line was contaminated (for lack of a better word) by being high strung and overly aggressive. These traits are the last thing you would want in a puppy, especially a golden. Our Daisy loves everyone and some in the neighborhood know us as Daisy's folks. Someone is forever at the front fence loving on her - too cute!

I think the dog has some Catahoola but the yellow eyes and big ears look very wild dog, anyway is gentle with the cats.

Chicago, IL(Zone 5b)

rita....please explain....I have no idea what you are talking about.

Lizella, GA(Zone 8a)

Sweet babies, all,,, We have 2 small "rescue" dogs. Mixed breeds and they have been the best pets. No skin or health problems. I also had a small cockerpoo before for 17 years. She was a wonderful lap dog.. and so sweet.

I vote for Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! I too have always been a cat person... until I bought a Choc. Lab for S.O. and fell in love, then did some research and knew I wanted a Cavalier... she is the most loving, happy dog ever! As others on the Pet Forum know, she's been a tad difficult to housebreak, but we didn't use a crate (as you should). She's doing much better, now (knocking on wood)...

My Boxer, "Ginger", says to get a dog a.s.a.p. They will always be your best friend and a constant companion in your garden, when they are not chasing squirrels up a tree!
