Weight Loss Challange Sept 15- 22(?)

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

I'm starting it early because I need to leave early for the RU. It's close to me but I need to go to the grocery store and buy the ham, get it sliced, etc. I need to put up the signs on the park entrance too so people will know they are at the right place to turn in. I also have signs for the shelter. Not large signs, just a sheet of printer paper with large - 50 I think- print on it.

I'm packing as much as I can tonight and getting it into the van so I don't forget a bunch of stuff in the morning. I have the smoker in there already with charcoal, etc. The coffe cake is out there too. I need to get the 'burger out of the freezer right now or I'll forget a ll about it. Ok, that is done. Kris is getting some chicken leg quarters to cook in the smoker too. That should be enough meat. Unless someone else brings some kind of meat that is all we will have.

I learned of a United Way fund raising Tyson truckload sale in Sedalia this morning so I got in there about 7:15 this morning. Came home with 100# of chicken products in 20# boxes. Boneless, skinless breast, Buffalo tenders, nuggets, Ready to Cook chicken tenders, and Mesquite flavored breast meat. Holly helped me bag it and took a bunch home for them. Kris will take some home with her tomorrow. If Kris hadn't been coming to the RU I wouldn't have gone to the sale because going to the Tyson store with my friend whose son works there is less expensive. But you can only go certain hours and this way I also gave to United Way. They help a lot more local organizations than I had any idea they do. All the money raised will stay in Pettis County.

I need to get more stuff to the van then turn in for the night. I've been awake since a bout 5:30 this morning.

Jack is having another slow bleed in his brain. It make be the same one, I don't know. Sometimes he feels ok, then he gets confused and off balance and weak for a few hours or days. He won't let me take him to the doctor or hospital tho. Holly checks on him while I am gone. He is mostly just weak. His mind seems fairly clear tho and that is a very good thing. I may not stay at the RU as long as planned tho. I at least want to check in on him before going to work. That makes me leaving the RU about 2 instead of 3. My bosses insisted I leave right at 8 tonight instead of staying to wash dishes, put away food, etc. Others pitched in to do that for me. I am very thankful for good co workers and employers.

Tricia, it sounds as tho your family needs lots of Vit. C, iron, and zinc to build up your immune system. It is so hard on the body to be sick all the time. It also sounds as tho there may be some allergies affecting all of you. Yes, allergies can cause all the symptoms you have talked about and then some. Been there, it's no fun. But don't let them tell you that the allergy tests are painful, etc. There are several ways to do it. A teenager at the camp ground who also helps at the cafe' just had the test done. She said they pricked her finger to get a few drops of blood and that was all. When Kris was a baby they took a vial of blood from her vein at the inner elbow. The rest of us had the little patch tests. No one suffered at all.

GOD bless and keep each and all of you.
