Hmmmm.....I've never tried, as they don't seem to need my help! Fall from tree, land on ground, germinate in great numbers--that's the story here. Someone else can chime in on what's needed to germinate seed you collect, and whether resultant seedlings are likely to be thorny monsters or not.

Yes, very easy to grow from seeds. I located a Thornless Honeylocust tree in front of our city hall several years ago. I've grown about 20 seedlings from this tree and not one had a thorn, although 50% or so is supposed to have thorns, from the thornless one, iuno.

p.s. I don't plan to have a bear chase me up a thorned tree, I actually like the thorned ones they are cool.
This photo is a thornless seedling thats 3 years old, not a thorn on it. Theres about 5 more seedlings like it in the background. Kitty Litter jugs come in handy!
