Which one? Rion, Juliana, Sundog, Solexx

I just wish I would have measured in the right spot the first time--then I wouldn't have had to bother all of you asking for opinions! But I think this has been a good discussion anyway and hopefully will be helpful to future greenhouse purchasers too! If it hadn't been for the space limitations, I think I would have gone with the Rion but now I'll never know!

It was still a very worthwhile question and it might help someone down the line. ;)

Enjoy it in good health ecrane3. A GH is such a personal choice that only the one who is going to use it knows what is best for them.

For anyone wondering why the HFGH is so inexpensive (as opposed to cheap ), it's because it's made in China. Lower labor cost there.

I was wondering about that! I'm a big believer in the theory of if it sounds too good to be true it probably is, but that's not always the case!

Did you know the Rion is made in Israel? Useless information but I was surprised to read that. LOL

For anyone keeping track, it has been over two weeks since I was told they were probably going to send me a new greenhouse. The person I had been talking to was out on vacation most of last week. The other person I have been talking to wrote and said they are replacing the whole greenhouse. Now I just have to wait and see. Seeing is believing... LOL

Wow, that would be truly impressive customer service if they replaced the entire greenhouse! I wonder if the bowing problem could be corrected by screwing a piece of aluminum angle iron behind the plastic frame where it's sagging? If you could fix that and get a replacement as well, you'd have TWO. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hmmm, I didn't consider bracing the door like that. ;) It actually came with a steel (I think) bar that slides into that piece as you put it together. I have to say I think the double door is the worst part of the design! The 6' wide hobby models only have a single door. The 8'6" pro models have double doors. I think the foor foot opening is maybe too much for a piece of pvc? Due to the design, it's a bear to take it apart without breaking something else. I've had to replace other parts.....But yes, I could have 2 or one loooooong one. ;) I'm not counting my chickens just yet. LOL

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Wooo hooo! I got a new email.

Quoting:
We are sending you a new GH, white, with 3 roof vents + 3 auto openers, two louvre windows and a shade net. The extra windows are to make sure it is even cooler in the summer, as well as the shade net - please use it.

Now, where to put it?? Where is that darn UPS man??? Oh, maybe a little soon to start stalking the pretty brown truck....

Edited to perfect my HTML skills. LOL

Dang Girl.. Very cool! I am sure that you will find a place to put it. even though that 7 acre spread is getting tight.. lol

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Ha! I still have plenty of room! As soon as I can afford fencing, we plan to get some goats or something to cut the field for us. :)

I really think I might try to fix the old greenhouse and use it for my personal plants and use the other one for my commercial plants. Then I don't have to worry so much about critters from my stored plants getting on the new babies. I think that would make the best sense. I'm also considering throwing a 6 mil cover over the old one and see if I can overwinter all my ears, brugs and nanners and such. Makes me quiver. LOL

Badseed, that is so awesome that they're sending you a whole new greenhouse! I would definitely try to fix up the old one if you can so that you have two, that would be great!

My Sundog is arriving on Friday, I will start a new thread and post pics and comments on my experience with assembling it once I have time (I have guests for a week starting Friday, so it will probably be the weekend after that before I can get started)

Just wanted to let everyone know that Target.com is having a good sale on the Rion Greenhouses. Their sale is 10% off PLUS an additional 10% off at checkout. That is $200 off more than I just paid.Think it ends soon but I just found it.
That is if anyone was interested.

I was looking at extension kits today for the Rion. It's amazing that they are $353 almost everywhere I look. I did see one place had them about $60 less. I woulds swear I swear I saw them not too long ago for $279.

Right now it looks like Target's Rion sale is blowing the pants off prices at HD and Sam's!

I constantly go back and forth between buying extensions and just buying a commercial greenhouse which I don't really HAVE to have right this minute. I was even thinking of asking for my money back instead of another Rion. Guess what Fed Ex brought today? LOL Guess I have two Rion greenhouses! When they finally make up their mind, they sure get it on it! I was told to expect it next week and call if it did not arrive.

You are right about Target. When I spoke with the people at the Rion company he told me "Do you mind me asking what you paid" ? And when I told him he was shocked! He repeated my answer several times. He couldn't believe it. He even asked "but what did you pay for shipping" and I told him "It was included in that price". I could tell he was so shocked. He said sometimes they could match the price or get close to it but said he couldn't touch that deal with a 10 foot pole. He reminded me that I got an extremely good deal. I paid like $2047.00 and with all the windows and louver included in his price was like $3300.00 PLUS. Target does give you the extra windows (3 extra for me making a total of 5). Standard is only 2 for that size.
Yea, if I knew this sale was coming I would of went for the 24 footer.
