Thanks vos, it is the same as one of them. There seem to be different leaf patterns, are they all considered Monstera?
the link I posted is for monstera deliciosa, the plant you have. You will ocassionally find baby plants in a 4" pot sold at WM and they will have no holes/splits, making you think you have a totally diff. plant. The more holes/splits, the more mature the plant. But yes, this is all the same plant.
C, what are you feeding those things!!!
V, lol, nothing really. I just let it attach itself to my wall and it got huge!
Nothing, Linda. I think mine has been there through two winters already. This coming will be it's third. We have really mild winters with only a couple of light (light compared to y'all... lol) overnight freezes (couple hour dips into the upper 20's and lower 30's).
Wow, Carter, yours is a monster. Wish mine would hurry and get that big. LOL
At the Moody Gardens tropical pyramid in Galveston, they have some of these guys that make mine look like puny little seedling!
Linda what are you going to do with your this winter? Or do you have it in a pot? One more question, where you have it is it in the shade or sun?
I have two of these in pots if anyone is interested. I was going to sell them but would trade them for something comparable. They are well rooted and ready to go. One is in a quart pot and the other is in a tall four inch pot.
Edited to say these are going to live in Florida! :)

2pug, last year and the year before, I dragged it into the gh. Yes it is in a large pot in the shade. It's put on quite a bit of growth this summer and will take up much room. I will probably have to cut it back a bit.
Bad, those look good!!
Badseed your looks great to. I got one about 3 months ago and still have it in the house. Next summer I think I will put mine outside on the patio under the roof. I had an begonia angle wing there this summer and I think it grew 3 ft. Hopefully next year our kittens will be big enough they won't want to tear up everything they see. I would hate to have to move them out, the kittens.
I'm wondering if Linda's Monstera could actually be M. deliciosa 'Borsigiana', the smaller,
faster growing form of deliciosa. Seems to me that with as much stem I see against the lattice, the larger form would be huge by then, with both wrist-sized stems and 3 foot leaves. Almost all the leaves have splits but not holes, a typical characteristic of the smaller 'Borsigiana' form.
Linda, how large are the leaves on your plant, if they're about 12 to 15 inches across, I believe you have the 'Borsigiana' form.

LindaSC, looks like I'm not the only big fan of the monstera in Columbia. It's my favorite plant now actually.
bluesea23 you just made me wonder if I have the same plant now. I didn't realize there was a Borsigiana form of the monstera.
I have three of the large monstera's indoors in 12-16" pots. All of them grow a single new leaf every month and a half or so, fairly slow growers - but BIG leaves. But the smaller monstera's will put out 4-8 leaves a month; they grow really fast. To date I haven't had any with the common "window holes" seen in the larger monstera's despite leaving them outside all summer. My smaller ones got decimated by mites/aphids last winter indoors and almost died off. I put them outside this spring and they came roaring back and are now quite large in newly repotted 14" square containers.
I'll have to do more research on the Borsigiana form though. That might explain why my plants look so different. I have one that looks exactly like the photo Badseed posted above. Below is a photograph of one of my larger ones. I brought one back from Hawaii this year too, and it is definitely the larger variety. My wife is about to shoot me for all these large plants in our apartment.

Wish I knew why the image won't show up... shoot.
I just looked up the other variety... I'm not sure that's it either. It's a white variegated form of the plant, which don't appear to be what we have.

Maybe we just have baby monstera deliciosa's after all.

Well hello keonikale, where in Columbia are you? I'm in Forest Acres not far from Richland Mall.
Hey. I live downtown in the Pavilion Towers. It's right there at the junction of Elmwood/Huger and I-126. Usually we're the couple with the very lush balcony as seen from I-126, LOL.
If you are ever interesting in obtaining one of the larger monstera's, the only place I've found in town to have them in town regularly is Jarrett's Jungle in West Columbia: http://www.jarrettsjungle.com/
If you find them anywhere else, please let me know. I know Lowe's and Home Depot have the smaller ones from time to time (that's where we got our smaller ones last year - and the mites I'm afraid). I hope once we move into a house in a year or so (we just got married in May) that we'll be able to build a greenhouse out back to let our monstera's grow even more. They are huge now, but they could get a lot bigger (like the photo above by Carter.) I purchased a new one this past weekend from Jarrett's that has leaves as large as Carters; I'm obsessed with this plant.
I first fell in love with the Monstera in Hawaii. They are just giant there, but then again, everything else is too.
I know exactly where you live and have noticed the balcony with all the plants. I haven't been to Jarretts in a while but will add them to my list of places to go. Are you new to DG?
I joined late last year and posted a few times, but my subscription ran out after a month or so. My interest in the subject has grown dramatically in the last year. So I guess that makes me a re-registered newbie. I plan to be around a lot more frequently in the coming months :)
Trying the photo again now at home... this is the new monstera I got this weekend. Behind it is part of my older monstera (both are from the same original plant at Jarrett's). The larger ones are big space eaters indoors, but they are a lot more enjoyable IMHO than the smaller plants. Makes it feel a bit more tropical due to their large size.
That's a beauty, I'll have to go check them out.
