How do you display & decorate with your house plants?

Dover, PA(Zone 6b)

I would love to tell you all about how wonderfully I have presented my collection of rather large floor plants but this is the “ugly truth”. I have a good size area and lots of glass but if I want to be able to use my sliding doors or see out the windows. I must shove them together till you can hardly tell where one plant stops and another starts. Especially since my children keep bringing me plants to over winter that are too large to keep at their homes. Not to mention what I have hiding in the back bedrooms. Holly

Holly, there is nothing ugly about your truth! Your plants look very nice. You've a beautiful living room, too.

I, too, am so jealous of Jdee's porch! I love porches with swings and all the more when it's adorned with green friends!

Here is a shot of my L.R. and new plant stand. I had to do SOMETHING in order to be able to walk around in here!

Looks like your shelves work great. Do I see Begonia’s? I really have to stay away from plant sales I always want to bring something home. Last year I gave away a few of my plants. I had to be ruthless and decide what I really wanted. Of course a friend gave me some Cuban oregano this spring that sat on my porch all summer and I couldn’t bear to leave it out so now I need to find a spot for it.

Very beautiful! Your plants all look happy and healthy!
Love the little froggie!

Very Nice GrowHappy! I spy with my little eye. some very nice and happy begonias!! Woo hoo!

Nottingham, MD(Zone 7a)

Holly Ann, you DO see begonias! LOL You see: B. Marmaduke, B. Beatrice Haddrell, B. Persian Brocade, B. Helen Teupel, B. Erythrophylla(Beefsteak), B. Caravan, B. Joe Hayden, B. Art Hodes... I LOVE begonias, but I really can't afford to get any more.

I love Plectranthus, too. I had a cuban oregano year before last, but rotted it. Boo hoo. I grew Swedish Ivy outdoors over the summer. I tried propping it so I could enjoy it over the winter too, but it didn't work. I received Vick's plant in a recent trade and those are coming along nicely. I LOVE the smell of Vicks!!!

Kim, was just admiring some of your planters on other posts. You find the BEST deals, girl!

Grow Happy and Holly, what beautiful plants you have! Nice selection! I've managed to arrange a few houseplants inside that I'm happy with. There's still plenty more to go. I'll send pics of what I've done so far.

My Cuban definitely needs a haircut. I put it on the steps to my front door they are covered and shady. It looked very nice just trailed down the step. But I never turned it or trimmed it. Right now it’s bare on one side and very long on the other. I’m going to try to root some cuttings. If it works I’ll be glad to share.

I'll have to post a picture of a planter (I think it was supposed to be a very expensive dish *lol*) my grandma gave me. I tried to find another one on E-Bay. needless to say, I found one.....$65! *lol*. Don't think this was supposed to be for a plant but anything that looks like a planter to me becomes one whether it's meant to or not *lol* I'll post a picture this afternoon (have a job interview.....keep your fingers crossed)

Good Luck to you Kim!

Back from the interview. Fingers crossed.

As promised, here is a picture of my "planter". When it became a planter, I didn't realize it was VERY collectible pottery by Mackenzie & Childs. So, if there are any pottery collectors out there....I'm sorry but I love it as a planter rather than a bowl. Grandma picked it up at a yard sale and since I loved it so much she gave it to me. My crown of Thorns seem to be happy in it but I'm afraid it's the only piece I will ever own as I can't even afford the drawer pulls made by this company on E-Bay *lol*

Kim, good luck getting the job. I love that bowl/planter too! What great colors and the design is wonderful. Good for you for using it as you like best.
