Anybody got Dirr's newest book?

Just wondering how many of you have purchased (just learned of it today - heck don't even know just how new it is but... I got a peek at some info from an email today)

It's called:

Dirr and Heuser's 'Reference Manual for Woody Plant Propagation'

What I saw was groundbreaking! Acer's in particular! Who knows what else it discusses???

Unless there's a reprint, The Reference Manual of Woody Plant Propagation (From Seed to Tissue Culture) by Dirr and Heuser was published in 1987. I've had mine almost that long; the cover's almost off of it.

It has a world of good information, derived from not just Dirr and Heuser's personal work but from the likes of McDaniel, Chadwick, Fordham, Lewis, and more lions of propagation from the past century. Much has advanced since then (in tissue culture, especially) but some things are timeless.

Should be on every propagator's shelf, especially IL-equipped ones.

Thanks VV. I did call my Mom at the college library after I posted naturally, and I believe she said there's a 1998 revision, then again maybe she said it was 1987. She won't be up for five hours, so I gotta wait. Google didn't come up with squat last night.

All I have here is (Dirr's) 'Manual of Woody Landscape Plants - Their identification, Ornamental Characteristics, Culture, Propagation and Uses' which helps on occasion - but not the book I need for sure. Can't believe I don't have it by now!

Take care ya brown baggin' wine connoisseur (and thanks)!
