ID old farming object

Hi folks wondering if anyone can tell me what this is. My mom and I visited her old childhood home (now a ruble of rock) last year and found this object where a barn used to be (a few rocks outline what was once the foundation of the barn). I was thinking it might have been a weight from a pulley system? Any thoughts? Thanks Maridell
