Doris, Let's get excited!!!

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

You just can't imagine my surprise to find this!! Right now all I have are green sticks compliments of a tropical storm. I go outside this morning and this is what I see. I have never seen a double bud of any kind but this looks way different from my single buds. It's lost all of its leaves except for a few on top. Doris, this is one of your GL crosses. Do you think it will be a double?? Let's keep our fingers crossed!! LOL!

Wow Melanie !! It's growing so quickly for you. It's so exciting to watch Sooo happy for you and Doris.
I'm wondering now if it's going to be a Triple???

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

LOL!! Kin you would have to give me something else to worry about!! I now have a path worn in the lawn where I go back and forth checking on it...a gazillion times a day!! LOL!! Oh and by the way, it has only about 15 new buds right now!!!

LOL
I hope you don't start sleep walking !! Well at least you have a good path to follow if you do..I share your excitement and can't wait to see what develops.
Yipee!!!!!!!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

OH MEAG I just went outside because we are having a terrific downpour, and my plant is a total mess, + four more that I have on the Patio, only one branch survived the wind, and the buds are all off, I can save the one thick stem but not likely to get buds now untill next year, by the way did any of the other seeds grow OK.

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

Doris, you have two more that have buds. One of them will most likely bloom within the next few weeks. All of these are your GL crosses. The storm we had didn't take the buds just the leaves, go figure. They aren't as big as the one that's fixing to bloom. I just couldn't get them to grow like they were supposed to. I am so sorry about your storm. I heard that it was pretty rough. I hope that this one will make up for your loss.
Kin, I really don't like going out there at night (this one is waaaayyyy in the back yard), they are way to many skeeters, bats, and no see ums!! LOL!!

Lodi, CA(Zone 9b)

Okay.. I've been in here twice today to see if there was a pic.. You have me on the edge of my seat!! Please post the minute you see something.. I'm dying here.

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

ZZ I know how you feel. I have gotten more exercise in the last few days than I have in the last month! LOL I promise to post a picture every morning, so we can keep track of her.I still hope for a beautiful colored double tripled. If I am gonna wish, wish big!! LOL!!

Premont, TX(Zone 9b)

Yahoooooooooo ! WTG Melanie and Doris. which cross is this..?
I am so excited for both of you.

Elva

Jeffersonville, IN(Zone 6b)

Lavina

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

OK Kin, I went outside before light this morning, brave person that I am, (yeah, right!!) and took this. It's no ways as good as yours are. I was on the run when I took it! LOL!!
Doris right now she is a very pale yellow/green. I hope that she colors up the next few days, if she is going to change at all. She has a couple of brusied petals due to a small storm that went through yesterday. Oh, she is a double.

You should see my yard, it is covered with blooms blown off in the storm last night, and several pots blown over, it is nice to come in and see your picture, it made my day.(((HUG)))

Forgot to add the seeds were Golden Lady X Isobella, am hoping this turns PINK.

Oh I forgot to add, she smells out of this world!! I don't have anything else blooming right now so it is her!! You could smell her about 20 ft away.
Now some one please correct me if I am wrong, doesn't it take two years for one to show it's true colors and shapes?

Hooks, TX

Congratulations, meag and Doris! I love the curly tendrils and the waxy look! I'm following the crowd here to help you celebrate.

Way to go !!!!!!!

Whoooooooooo Hooooooooooooo How fun is this? I am so thrilled for you! That fragrance must drive you wild.. I know it would me! Congratulations!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

Meag. I did a search on google and this is what it said.
I have found that some do not show their true color or shape in the first ... really wait for the second year but again some folks don't wait that long. ...

Lewiston, CA(Zone 7b)

Lookin good you two! We are all on the edges of our computer chairs!
Glad she smells great, it's a fun shape! I'll be watching! Bj

Knoxville, TN(Zone 6b)

What a beautiful sight. It must be breathtaking in person if it looks that great in a picture. And the smell makes it that much more wonderful.

Tellico Plains, TN(Zone 7b)

Especially GL breeding can take 2 or 3 years to show her true colors.
From the ones I have seen it is well worth the wait ;))

(Mary) Poway, CA(Zone 10a)

Golden Lady has wonderful fragrance. She filled the whole greenhouse with her scent last winter. A great cheer during the short days of winter! One of the things that keeps you from giving up on brugs when things aren't going well is the scent when one decides to bless you with a bloom. I'll bet you're enjoying yours a lot.

Wow she looks fantastic Melanie! I'm so proud of you for taking that dark adventure just to share a shot of her with us. I hope the storms don't ruin all of your brugs! Do keep us informed of how they are doing.
Kin
