My first morning glory bloom

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

Ok this is not as exciting as most of what I have seen posted here but I wanted to share. This is my first moring glory bloom. Sometimes keeping this alive here in the summer (what we refer to as the furnace blast)
After visiting this forum I am sure I have a new addiction. Can you please tell me which are the best sites to obtain seed from?

Thanks ,
Marie

Very pretty Marie! I've found the best place to get seeds is right here or in the seed trading forum. Lots of people have morning glories and are happy to share. I'm sure there will be a flurry of trading in a couple of months when everyone finishes harvesting, sorting, and labeling their seeds.

That would be great except I have only 2 kinds of seeds at the moment (very new to this gardening stuff) Are there any particular web site to go to? So I can get a start for next year.

Check ebay. Type in morning glory in the search box. There are tons of affordable seed auctions on there.

Ok thanks never bought anything on e-bay. I know what I will be doing this weekend. :o)

Hi Marie, congrats on your gorgeous bloom and your new addiction! I search the web for what I can find and see, then usually can find someone here that has what you want and it's a lot cheaper than buying and paying shipping... just a thought. Is that Heavenly Blue?

Baton Rouge area, LA(Zone 8b)

It looks like Indica. Am I learning yet? :)

I believe it is heavenly blue. A dear friend brought it back from California for me. The best gift ever. :o)

Marie, If you have a Wal-Mart close-by, I found 10 cent packs of seed there this Spring. Choice Mix, Clark's Heavenly Blue. Scarlet O'Hara pkt was 25 cents.
Zeeland Hybrids Mix was 1.34. If you don't have a Wal-Mart, Parks seed and Burpees are reasonable.
Would be cheaper than E-Bay, I would think.

Thanks Jackie. I have been told every now and then you can find them in the stores here. I think it is usually by accident as it seems to be illegal to sell them here but it is not illega to have them in your yard ??? I think I will have my family back in Pennsylvania bring some when they come for a visit in October.

Oh, I just realized you live in AZ. People cant sell to Arizona because it has been declared a prohibited noxious weed there. I guess what flowers are already there can stay but they want to keep more form coming in.

No clue as to why that is because unless you are in someone's yard you never see them.
Not like back home in Pennsylvania when they were everywhere. We call them Az. roses here. :o)

Nice picture, great flower, welcome to the collective. You are now assimilated, resistance was futile. LOL
