I'll take you up on the wallichii seed offer.....I don't recall pods, just a few individual seeds, more like hard berries. It definitely didn't go to town on the seeds like some of the other C's.
By the way, my C. philippinum never did bloom, but it walked across the bed! The plant and its offspring are going into pots as soon as I can use a shovel. (tripped over my own foot 2 weeks ago, got a nice foot/ankle sprain)
Thank goodness I can still use a trowel, I planted about a zillion bulbs over the last couple of weekend, plus I'm potting things up. Maybe I can get my husband to dig up the philippinum. My 'musical notes' has withstood 39 degrees already with no sign of damage but it is crowded in with some salvias which may be keeping it warm....

Clerodendrum Question
okay...I did examine the seeds today..they remind me of coral vine seeds.
Im still busy pruning and cutting.
Phillpinum, I don't have that one yet.- I'm pretty sure that was the one I killed off last year. It was in the low 40's last night. The Minahasse and the wallichi spend the evening inside the house. that's why I was noticing the seeds.
I noitced my musical note by the pond has buds on it. I agree, having other plants around or a canopy makes a difference.
My wallichii is in full bloom right now..I hope this am's low temps don't get it...It is about 5 years old.. Gets killed to the ground after a freeze, but comes back each year from the roots.. It gets a little bigger each year.
Larkie
Awesome, Larkie!
If you can grow wallichii in the ground in Camilla than I can in Thomasville, it always gets a little colder there than here. That's good news! It sounds like I could treat it like a Brug or Firespike, I always wait for a hard freeze to knock them way back, then I whack 'em down and pile up the pinestraw.

Beautiful!
RJ, great picture of your papaya! Weren't you scared that they were going to fall on your head....lol.
Lovely pictures of the wallichii, RJ and Larkie. RJ what is the pink colored leave plant beside your wallichii?
:) Donna
wow, and it grows back every year? My problem is - every time I plant these things, they get enormous. My ugandense is turning into a hedge if it gets any bigger. I guess I need to be better aquainted with the trimming devices eh?
Thanks Donna,
lol....actually don't laugh- I was out in the garden last week, when I heard a big thump--- yep a papaya.
The pink plant...I am working on that name for you. Someone gave it to me this summer, and I keep forgetting the name.
