I am hoping someone can identify this insect. I am in northern NJ and a co-worker asked me if I knew what it was. I am clueless. Thanks

This is not an insect, but a spider. It is the Arrow-shaped Micrathena (Micrathena sagittata) http://bugguide.net/node/view/30403/bgimage

I'm guessing a victim would avoid the back end and aproach it right into it's mouth parts! Great picture!!
