I leave the door to the garden open most nights..for the cat ..she's been under the circular stair.. groweling and hissing late some nights..I figured it was just an insect in the 100's of brug blooms... tonight I see what it was... Gordon
NYC home invasion
Oh my, how did that get on your roof? Is that not amazing that it lives on top of a roof? Are you in a tall apartment building?
They will rip your house up if you give them a chance. But they are so cute. He really has ventured in far too.
oh bad kitty doesn't want to share her food lol. I am amazed to think how it got on the roof top
Well now that is a hoot. How did the critter get up there?
I thought you only had poodles in Brooklyn.
Lavina
LOL.I gotta hear more, how did you get it out?
They are pretty sneaky.
Oh WOW. I have them on my back patio sometimes, but he/she must have a crush on your kitty to venture to such a place LOL
Probably trying to get at kittys' food. They are cute, but hope you can get rid of it, they are so pesky!
Oh, it's so cute but I definately wouldn't want it in my home. LOL
Oh, Gordon! What a surprise! In Brooklyn??? On your roof??? Please tell us "the rest of the story". I'd call pest control, they can capture and release your little "friend" in a more user friendly territory. They can be very destructive. I bet you are dealing with the situ this very minute...
We await patiently. . . . . .
We have them critters all the time, and possums as will. They come right up on the front porch and eat the cat food. One year I had a rubbermaid container sitting on the porch and kept the cat food in it, then we got a little raccoon, and he tore the heck out of that rubbermaid container trying to get to the cat food. Had to move it inside.
Take his mask off, I want to see his face!!

Well.. a little filler to me here... the garden is on the top of the building..and sits at the fifth floor level... the backsof the buildings have gardens on my block.. I get the squrrels come up the fire escape ..with their nuts and burry them in my containers.. I get a bout a pound or so every year as I move the soil about in the spring.. I figure the Coon cameup the sameway.the local park has only a playgrounds.. and a large asphalt baseballl area... and a bacci court..and a few large trees.. I do have a little pond.. perhaps the only one for blocks..and coons like water... to wash in and wash their food.. so perhaps he's here for that also
The dayafter I postedhispicture.. I againleft the roof door open... and on returnning.. just afterdark.. i saw he was in the house again...down the stair.. and into the kitchen.. he ate all of the cats dry food there.. and opened the lower cabinet and got into a bunch of the Ramen ..chineese noodles...ripped a few packs up.. and tookacouple of packs to the roof...where he opened them ..but didn't seem to eat them..
Thefirstpicture I posted was taken with a flash... these weretaken with along exposure.. he wasn't moving much at all.. so the pictures came out ok..he was just transfixed... staring at me
Gordon
Looks like you've been adopted, whether you like it or not!
He IS very cute! What DO you do with a racoon on rooftop garden in NYC? Did you find noodles bits in the pond? My girlfriend in high school had a pet one, Rory.... Gordon, you wanna name it Rory? :)
then out came the noose.. they got one then the other... and put them in a cage..and off for testing..guess it's part of no child left behind... these were young ones... the visitor to my place seemed a good bit bigger... the gathered crowd was told they would be released.. these guys didn't know exactly where... well we'll see if mine returns... Gordon
Seeing coons, how funny, seems so funny with people taking pictures and all, it's probably not something you New Yorkers see real often. But here where I live it is a common ordinary thing. I have coons that come up on the patio to eat with my cats. But little babies like that can be real cute.
Thanks for the update Gordon. I'm really enjoying the continuing saga! I guess it would be a sight to see in NY!
