dh and I was walking out back, and when i walked pass my Lilac bush, I seen seeds, I never knew they bore seeds. This is the first time I have noticed them.
Connie
didn't know
Gee Connie I didn't know that either. I've never really looked I guess or maybe its because I always shear off the dead blossoms before that happens. Interesting though, hey?
Cherie
Oh how lucky you are! I love Lilacs but don't think I can grow them here in Florida. I am going to find out though!
Are ya going to plant them and see what comes up? I'd be interested to know how they do............then I won't shear mine right away next springwhen they're done blooming. Cherie

takes a few years to get flowers, but it can be done!
Yeah maybe take a few years to flower but growing your own lilac from seed seems worth the wait don't you think? Must be more aware of my own.
Lilacs won't grow in this part of the South. Crepe mytles are referred to as "Lilacs of the South" but in my experience they don't have the scent.
