How and when to prune?

Hi, I was hoping someone could direct me to a site where I can learn how and when to prune certain shrubs. Can anyone help a newbie in this area? thanks, Flowerlou

Hi flowerlou,

I really like "Pruning" by Christopher Brickell as it has simple line-drawings, goes over most commonly grown trees, shrubs, fruit trees, etc. See if you can find it in your library.

Thank you Growin, I will see if I can get the Pruning book from our library! I kind of have an emergency question about my Harry Lauder's walking stick shrub so I will post a question about that now. However the book you reccomend looks like simple good reading for my other shrubs that I need help with. Thank you again, Flowerlou
