It was inevitable that the lily season would come to an end soon. These are the last two to bloom for me. After this, I have a long wait until next June. This is Starfighter.
A end of the lily season
and Black Beauty. Normally this one flowers in mid-late September but this year was warmer than usual.
Beautiful! I have Black Beauty, but not the other. I miss the lilies already. A long winter wait is coming!

Wow! They bloom all summer where you are? Mine just bloomed in the spring. I'm a newbie to Lilies I'm sure it shows.

Todd Boland, who posted the pics, lives in Newfoundland so his lily season is a bit later than the rest of us. Wouldn't it be wonderful if they could bloom all summer!
In Newfoundland, our earliest lilies bloom in late June (the Martagons) and continue into October with L. speciosum. My personal latest is 'Black Beauty' which is still blooming and should make it to late September.

Last year I had about 8 Stargazers but I did not see even one of them emerge this year... :( I think something must have gotten them).... rats.... I am starting all over again in the fragrant lily department.... I just hate when that happens... lol...
Your lilies pics are beautiful. I too miss the lilies. Mine bloomed in June and July. None since then. i really love my lilies. I have black beauty but not starfighter. How does that one compare to stargazer?

Its similar to Stargazer but has a distinct white edge to the petals.
My last one was august 11th. I wish there was a way to keep them all year round. I love the fragrance.
