Hi Onalee, if you're not getting the info you need on the ID forum, try the experts on the Bulb forum. We're mostly Lilium geeks here, but do enjoy the odd glimpse of other plants that have Lily as part of its common name. Good luck with your search.

The same folliage we have here and same like you I never seen any bloom with them. I will try to take a photo , You are right these are very drought tolerant. Before today I was thinking they are Daffodils.

Could be liriope (sp?). Try googling it. It does have a flower that looks kind of like grape hyacinth, but mostly it's grown for it's foliage.

I'll take a look!

This one poses a great question--whatzit?

A great mystery......can there really be an Amaryllid that *never* blooms, not *ever*? Wow.

This is fascinating. An evergreen bulbous plant, most likely tropical-sub-tropical or Mediterranean in origin that's been around for ages and no one knows what it is, 'cause no one's seen it bloom.......

If it's Mediterranean in origin, that may explain why it doesn't bloom in Florida (too much moisture in the "wrong" season). Maybe someone in (coastal) Southern California where they have good luck with Amaryllis belladonna could try it. I hear that there, belladonnas bloom like mad with never any irrigation at all, only what falls from the sky.

Robert.

Maybe it is a handful of lilium seeds, now growing happily. Looks like my lily 'grass seed' area.

Is it a stem that is lying on the ground??

Did it look like this last year???

No, there's no stem lying on the ground; it's looked like this for the last 40 years . ..at least.
