I think this is a moth. I couldn't see the antennae ends to be sure, but it looks mothlike overall. It's small...less than 1", and hides under leaves until disturbed. It feeds on nectar, because I found it on what's left of the oregano.

I got a lot of these in my garden too - mostly in the garden where my oregano is planted too!

It's not exactly it....although sometimes markings do vary a bit in moths.
All the info I've found on this guy says that it's a European moth.
It's actually a pyralid moth, although it has very geometrid patterning. The scientific name is Hymenia perspectalis AKA the spotted beet webworm. See:
