Where I have my morning glories, the sun beats down all day and by days end my glories are wilted.. They always pop back out as the sun goes down...Next yr, I want to increase my morning glories to climb a new deck. My ? is, is this wilting during the day very hard on them , or can they survive that every day?
One more question please
Mine do that too and I think it is normal on hot days. As long as they get water and they are not browning and shriveling they are probably fine. I grow a banana tree in one especially hot spot and it helps shade from the extremely hot afternoon sun but not shade out the morning glories. They need the sun to bloom. Too much shade can result in lots of leaves and no flowers.
They will survive. It's just the heat. Even when the soil around them is moist, I've had them wilt. The weather has cooled a bit, they aren't wilting, now, but when we had triple digits for days on end, they would wilt.
Thanks, I jst love the glories and want them on my new deck next yr....
Everyone have a great Labor Day Weekend !
