I purchased this odd looking tree in the spring of this year. It was doing fine until about early July when the original leaf growth started turning brown. It still does grow new leaves as the season goes on. Does anybody have any idea what may be causing this.
Contorted Fig Tree
My guess would be lack of water. In my experience, trees that don't get enuff water try to conserve energy by shedding their leaves.
Will
I agree. In the California forum someone commented that 'Brown Turkey' looses its leaves in summer in Southern California which we don't experience here. The plant may be going through a bit of shock as well. I've also overwatered Figs so watch for that too.
