The Aladdin's mantle was a catalytic converter of sorts. My stepfather collected them (the lamps) & I still have one. Very bright and very warm, (I have used it for heating a room when I had no power). -
reminds me, I need to stock in some kerosene for the winter & do some maint to that lamp!
