roflmbo @ Gina's closing,
Yes Gina, I would love the seeds. Right now I hardly have anything coming in, our weather is just awful, so cold and damp, Last 2 am's we had heavy heavy dew. Time to bring the house plants in.
Today wasn't so bad and tomorrow is suppose to hit 80's "clap, clap" I hope all my seed pods make it. Looks like we might have an early winter :(

Wanted Ornamental Grasses
That's alright, Connie!
Sorry to hear about your weather; I know what you mean, though! After all these weeks of daily showers, sometimes days of constant rain, I'm just hoping that seeds I've collected for others will be viable!
Although if you do happen to have some dried flowerheads of the Geraldton Wax Plant, I'd love some! I don't know if that is where the seeds are, but I'd love to try! When I saw your thread about that, I started looking up the plant. Info so far says that it's difficult to grow from seeds- haven't found where seeds are yet, but it seems like they would be in the flowers from looking at pics of the plant. I'm posting a link with good info on the thread you posted about that plant. But again, if the weather prevents any flowers from drying, don't worry about it! Just let me know, and I'll go ahead and send seeds out Monday.
K thanks,
not sure whish plant that is lol, I take alot of pictures of things I like, and try to get the seeds. If it is the one I am thinking it is, that was from the U of M when a friend was in the hospital there. I don't think I have it. will look at that tread and see. If it is I will dmail you.

Now i think you are all sleeping at the moment so its time i cleared a few things up. hehehe
Firstly scottish irish and welsh people are nothing to do with me. They don't like being called English because they are annoyed we didn't want them. Also during the countles feuds we have had with them we have beaten there sorry asses. deep down they envy us and wish they had been born this side of the border.
Be right back
Sorry about that my wife "she who must be obbeyed" just came in so didn't dare let her see that! Lol
the problem there is she is scottish with Irish parents. I have a 12 week old son not sure how it will affect him knowing he has scottish blood. I have a good therapist on standby hehehe
Seriously though the scots really hate the English but the English don't even rise to it. We are to busy hating the french. Lol I think that winds them up more. We even gave them there own goverment. And thats a whole new thread of the English winding them up.
Connie priest you say!! Now a man of the cloth wouldn't hurt another fellow human being would he? But while we are on the subject why is it you americans are so big, i don't mean outwards i mean tall. Huge Monster people you americans. Think its something in the water. I'm 6 ft and weigh over 14stone (not a clue what that is in funny stuff) But it makes me big for England. Hineni 9mm is this real gun stuff? Whats with all americans carrying guns? someone will get hurt one day!
And last but not least to you American ladies. I have a friend who works in America Hes been out there for 3 years teaching Football (the proper english type) i came out to see him once and i know you girls love the english accent, i had to beat the ladies off with a stick! He's had more girlfriends in those 3 years than the pope has said bedtime prayers!
Please note none of the above is aimed to cause offence and is only for laughs. Don't sue me please!
Have fun
Mike
Good mornin ta ya Mikie me dear, lol just had to let my Irish out.
I have been not so good this morning, that is why I am up an hour early.
Nasty headache, but it is finally going away, they say laughter is after all the best medicine :o)
By the way dh is a Preacher, not a Priest lol Priest are Catholics, we are Baptist. ;o) And yes there is a difference. No my dh wouldn't hurt a fly, a wasp yes a fly no. rofl.
cg
Excuse my ignorance whats a baptist do?
My wife gets headaches. Is that the same? Lol seriously though i hope your feeling better.
Sat here i can hear the bells from the church i live behind. I live here because its a really old village church and so really beautifull other than that the church annoys me. The most annoying people in the village are the religeous ones. They are the first to cast the first stone if they don't like soomething.
Anyway religion is a dodgy subject. It evokes strong felings in people. Hence the trouble we have in the world today.
But more importantly Wasps are great for the garden. Flys are disgusting and should be killed. They puke on there food then eat it. And you've seen what they eat!.
Off to have my dinner now. hehehe
Mike
Mike, Not really sure how to explain, There are different baptist, Ours is Missionary Baptist. I don't care for Religion, way to many try to cram it down others throats, I believe in Salvation.... Anyone can have religion, but not all are saved. we'll leave it at that. Don't think Dave would approve in of that topic.
Well anyway, you said you have a 12 week old :o) Ohhhhh I do love babies, if you would, please post a picture here. cg
Ok confused enough now! lol.
And yeah Little Thomas William,
I'll post a pic of him when he was a day old its probably the best one we have.
I'm really surprised no one has taken offence at my ramblings earlier. I thought it was kind of thought provoking myself. I'm dissapointed now heheheh It took me ages to write all that.
Speak soon off back outside to pot stuff on and prick out seedlings.
Mike
Oh Mike he is adorable, congrats to you and the one who must be obeyed :o)
Sorry to disappoint you by not taking offence. rofl
Connie
soooo adorable, they are so precious :o)
Mike

I know a few highlanders that would disagree with this statement. Esp. those few survivors of Culloden that escaped to this country. If honor, courage, and broadswords could have defeated money, armour, brutality and artillary; Scotland would be free today.
From the proud offspring of one of the highlands best warriors-
Debbie
You mean they ran away scared. heheheh. Anyway what you telling me, there where survivors? not such a job well done then. the idea was that we kiled them all. And does it matter how it was won. the simple fact is we did. Wars are all about who has the most money and weapons. Nothing to do with who is right or wrong.
Seriously though every time a scot gets a bit rattled they bring up Culloden, like someone can remember that far back.
By the way did i mention my wife "Her who must be obeyed" is a jock (scot).
Good to have your thoughts though debbie.
Its all in good humour.

haha, I'm still laughing at your description of our measurement system (I don't even remember the name! Everyone else is Metric right? We have the "funny stuff" system)!
Thanks for clearing that up, Mike- I was doubtful b/c I had thought UK only referred to Scotland, Ireland, Wales... but you've cleared that up! I think it was the "United" part that always threw me off, because -like you've just demonstrated- clearly you're not very united. ;)
I'm still proud to be of Irish/Scottish descent, and I don't take offence at all. Probably because I'm somewhat far removed! Although my grandfather's grandmother "Ma Healy" knew Gaelic, she said it was the ugliest language there is.
I haven't tested it to the limits yet, but so far I've found I can hold my alcohol well (despite my father hating alcohol). So I accredit this to my ancestry!
Thanks for clearing up my confusion in your own biased-yet-really-entertaining way!!!

Hey Gina, Posting it 4 times is just pushing the point to far Lol.
I know the site has been funny tonight. Think its busy!
Anyway my response as follows
hehehe. It is taking ages to post tonight. there was me thinking it was my crappy English computer.
Ok i bought it in hong kong but hey got to blame something.
It is good to see an american claiming a scottish blood line. Ok so its a bit Irish. I read somewhere that over 70% of Americans claim Irish decent but in actual fact its only about 5%. Now why is that? Honestly i'm not having a go, i would love to know. I think there is something like more chinese in america than there are Irish decent.
I have no idea about weights and measures. The daft english can't even make there mind up. one minute its all feet and inches then its cm and mm. Take fluid for instance its a 12oz can of coke then its a pint! The only country that serves real Pints in proper pint glasses. Whats with the 1/2 ltr stuff? And then for a big night out its a yard of ale!.
No wonder we don't know which way is forward. Lol
And on to the United bit. We all hate each other inwardly except the english who are to lazy for that. But then when it comes to... actually everyone hates the English and we just hate the French. Ohh and the Arge's. Lol
The main problem is England has been around to long so has had plenty of time to upset people. I mean.. the whole thing with ireland was over a potato! America is still a young country so has plenty of time to build up some real enimies. Just look over the borders. Cuba Canada. There not real happy with you guys. Or is that just a rumour? Lol
If you get chance you should cut and paste you're reply into the main thread for everyone. people love to read this kind of thing. You will find a few take offence and others just read. Its good to make people think.
If you can't laugh at ourselves there is something wrong!
Byee for now
Mike
Well, at least my messages went through all right. :)~
I would never have guessed that not as many are as Irish as they claim to be; of course,
on St. Paddy's Day, everyone is Irish! I'm apparently more Irish than Scottish, but I do like the Scottish as much. Once, someone who had travelled to Wales asked me if I was Welsh; the resemblance is there, and why deny it? I may also have a French ancestor... I would even declare it, if it were more than just a possibility. I swear I would!
I'm not sure actual Canadians have anything against us, but their government may. I only take a slight interest in politics, although I feel really strongly about some issues. I have no idea how Cubans feel about us politically although I live amongst them- SoFla is the docking port for those poor people who do make it! As for any other country... I don't even want to guess how they perceive us! All I have to say is: I voted correctly. ;)
To keep this a little on topic, I was at Lowe's today and saw some ornamental grasses; unfortunately none were seeding yet. I'll probably have to go back, so I'll check again then.
I'm off to a show today called Glee its the biggest event for buyers on the gardening calender. I'll see if i can steal one of those pink grasses! Hehehe
speak soon
Mike
I have lots of pampas grass seed if you want some....................... pink and white............
Mark
Pink ones aswell. You are lucky.
Hi Mark
I would love some of each,
Thanks Connie
Connie, be warned, those Pampas aren't really as kind as they appear. I used to have a pink one and it grew, and grew, and grew. Just trying to cut back old growth was something like venturing into a forest of sharp knives and when we eventually dug it out....well, I won't go into that :( We needed really heavy duty gloves to handle it because the leaves are like razor blades. Probably not the nicest plant to grow if there are children around, they could end up with some nasty cuts.
........and before Mike tells me to lighten up (LOL, Hi Mike!!! ;o) ) If they's planted these from one side of England to the other there would have been no Scottish clansmen coming down to invade. The thought of trying to climb over one of these wearing a kilt brings tears to my eyes, hahaha.
Every Pampas on sale should come with a warning sign because they definitely aren't 'user friendly'.

Rofl
I am aware, my neighbor had it (the white) growing in her yard before she moved. The new ppl don't speak english, Where I am going to put it, won't be a problem with kids getting into it... Besides all my kids are grown :o) no little ones... ALL TEENAGERS...
Terri did you get the seeds yet? if not you should be getting them soon..
Connie
Connie
You have a D-mail
Mark
Terri.. Now that is a funny image Lol. So thats where good old Adrian went wrong. Lol
I'll do a few tests this xmas for you i'll get my brother in law drunk and keep pushing him through one to see how long it is till he goes back to Glasgow Lol Running home to protect his Gorbals..... well i'm sure thats how you spell where he lives! Lol
Was it Adrian or Harold how built that wall?
On a serious note i know what you mean about how sharp they are. I'm a fan of setting fire to them every couple of years once they get big. Its the only way to remove all the dead from the base without dying. Just don't use petrol to start the fire going!
Mike
ROFLMBO, Mike you are very naughty to think of doing such a thing to your BIL, LOL
Wish I'd thought of setting fire to mine, there were times when I felt like using a flame thrower on the thing.LOL.
That was Hadrian who built the wall...not Adrian!! He couldn't build a pile of mashed potato (my son's name is Adrian, LOL)
Harold was the King who was shot through the eye with an arrow.
Good tip about not using petrol...far too expensive!! Brandy would be cheaper!!
Terri
Hehehe Was wondering if you'd pick up on the adrian thing.
I'm a little concerned that you want to torture your BIL too..... must be catching!
Petrol yeah wow even diesel is getting expensive now!
Mike
