There's a person who's horse I care for at the training barn. He's not talented or drop dead gorgeous, but he was the sweetest guy. Always loved attention and was not pushy, loved to work. He's only 3, but his owner put him in training for 6 months, then took him out (husband refused to pay for anymore). He's an egyptian stallion, and in the 2 weeks she's had him on her own, he's become headshy and as of yesterday, fearful. The arena fence was broken when she left (she goes where no one can see). He'd gone through it. l don't think there are many people that are capable of owning a young egyptian arabian stallion,& this lady is ruining the horse. And she won't geld him. SO the poor thing only gets turned out in one of the arenas with no companionship. I am close to begging her to stop being so selfish, geld the boy so he can have a life, and for heaven's sake stop trying to work with him. She can't even ride. Flops around like a fish on top of him. Apparently he went through the fence while she was lunging him yesterday. She is confusing him & has no idea how to lunge a horse.....she yelled at him. I heard she got tossed off him last week twice and should've gone to the hospital. The woman is so darn stubborn I want to.......yell at HER. But I can't......The owner of the facility as well as management has talked to her until their blue in the face.
Just venting. This has been bothering me as he's now a flinchy, scared, probably dangerous horse.
Foolish stubborn woman will not listen or learn, she's horse stupid. She talks to the horse as if he can understand and then jerks the bit in his mouth when he doesn't do it right-not to mention jerking his mouth around as she flops around on him...poor thing....
