I planted my JMGs late in June. Just now they are beginning to bloom. I really want seeds; but if I let them go to seed, will they stop blooming? How late in the fall do they bloom?
We don't get frost until near the end of October usually. Should I wait until Sept. or Oct. to begin allowing seeds to develop?
Should I dead head or wait for seeds?
Absolutely let them bloom all they want and collect the seed pods when a blooms is spent and the seed pod is dried. No dead heading is needed. If you do that there is nothing to make seedpods that I know of. It is the bloom that makes a seedpod.
Thanks, Leaflady, I feel really good about letting them bloom!
I just went out this morning and I have three kinds blooming and about four more with buds. I am thinking I should start a couple for winter right now so they can bloom in November or December under lights.
That means I'll be rich! Thanks Gerris.
