Does anyone have any info on African violet seeds? I saw them for sale on-line, and wondered if I could get seeds from mine.
I've been trying to start one by leaf for a couple months now, and it's a good sign that it hasn't turned brown, but I'm afraid I won't succeed with it.... Mainly because my gloxinia leaf subsequently died, and the other leaves on the Mom plant didn't look all that healthy, although I'm trying to start them anyway.
A few weeks ago, I picked 2 dead flowers off of the AV, but left them outside where they were exposed to the high SoFla humidity. One I picked just yesterday and brought it inside... I haven't read through all the archived posts yet, but I'm guessing I can't "dry" seeds outside due to the humidity here... ? One of the little yellow things (which had been left outside) was wrinkly, but I tried to sow it anyway.
/Posted this here instead of AV forum b/c of the humidity question; will try there next.
