I love the tie die colors... I might do it to see if they like it .. Look at my pics.
Your pic. is very nice and just have to say cool.

Something went wrong......
TOO CUTE!! How long did it take for the dye to wear off?
I wonder if they were looking at each other and thinking, "What the hecks wrong with YOU???" ROTFLMBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nicole
I want a chicken just so I can color it!!! Watch out dogs!! LOL!!
It will be a year Aug 31, and ours is still pink, the hens love him!!!!!
WOW!! I figured it would fade in a few months! Wow!
Nicole
good grief Sherry are you keeping him dyed or is this still round one?? and was it permant?? wow
I cannot remember what kind of dye we used, except that it was not harmful to humans or animals. I know it wasn't harmful to humans because we got it all over us and I wasn't even on the team. We did three chickens, I think, and the dye is still on all three, two live elsewhere. Mop Head is know as 'the pink rooster'.
lllllmmmmmbbbbooooo @ this thread. You guys are killin' me. I haven't laughed so hard over "left hand smokin', mushroom eatin', tie-dyed chickens in my life!
Thanks for the laugh!
Belinda
I emailed your photo to hubby and asked if I could have some like this. He came back with: "You want GLAM ROCK chickens?!" LOL
Actually, mine went thru a molt and dropped all the colored feathers.......
Mop didn't molt, he still has his color and he is definitely pink...
Hmmmmm
he will probably soon......
CC, I don't know why, but our chickens, Bantams, Sultan, have never molted, we've had most all for almost two years...except several almost 1 year hens that are from our own stock...
never heard of that
My canary, cockatiel molted, but not the chickens - would we notice a big difference??? Might the weather be why they don't molt??
a change of light or a change of feed can send mine into a moult
usually when I DON"T want it
but most moult once a year at least
Hahahaha, ours get a daily change of feed, we feed them scraps and we eat lots of veggies, salad, peelings of all kinds, they love the stuff - but I also feed them chicken feed, which they love too...
I'm talking about the chicken feed
If you go from one brand to another without a gradual change
or say pellets to straight corn it can send them into a moult
I mix 3 different feeds just so if I can't get one they are use to the others
We mix our feed too, and we use three feeds too...looks like I accidentally did it right, lol...
The 60's & 70's were really good (for some chickens anyways).
Aren"t these hysterical?
The funny part is that the State Fair asked me to do it again this year
OY MY GOD! I dont know if I can handle this...seriously...I think my weekend just officially began! I have never seen anything like that. I guess I did see a blue poodle at the McDonalds drive through in Des Moines once...but never a chicken! That is awesome!
ok, where did you get the tie dye kit? I HAVE to do this to my white silkies next year! When you have time can you send me a quick note on what to do (and I promise to stay away from NY with them!)
Craft store for the tyedye kit......
wash them and spray on wet feathers so the colors bleed
use comon sense -don't spray their face and try to just keep it on the feathers
Thanks! I have never tied dyed anything. Maybe I will practice on the cat! LoL And I will be very careful when I do it.
What will the cat think about getting wet?, Please be careful.
That was a joke. My cats are too refined to even think about being tye-dyed.
Bwahaaaahaaaaaaa!!! I think I hear some Grateful Dead playing in the background; )
