Looks like an insect nymph - maybe an assassin bug?

I don't know either but would love to find out. I have them on my plants down here on the Gulf Coast. Are they friend or foe?

Do you see them alone? Or in groups? It does look like an assassin bug - a good guy in that it eats other insects (sucks their juices). And they wander about seperate from one another, looking for insects. But there is a similar looking leaf-footed bug nymph. Those are usually in groups. And they suck the juice of plants. You can tell for sure when they get a little bigger. The back "leg" starts to widen.
I would guess assassin bug at this point.

There are usually 1 or 2 on a plant. They don't seem to hurt the plants. They are really orange.

We have them all over our yard again this year!

Yep, that's the Assassin Bug nymph. the Leaffooted Stinkbug nymphs look similar, but they travel in a whole TRIBE of at least 5 or more. The Assassins work alone....(No witnesses to the damage, I suppose...)

We've never noticed any damages to our plants and they are never close together.

Baton Rouge, LA(Zone 8b)

I have them too. Usually 2 to a plant but I found a 'tribe' of them in one of my plants that is in a container, I lifted the leaves and they had made a home. I haven't noticed damage exactly, but I do know that Neem Oil stuns them but they come back or others simply take their place.
