Wow, very prolific! And just "Heavenly". Is chain link holding up that monster? Wow, Beck - nice!

yes I am new at MGs and I put in about 9 along 15' and every other Moonflower. I realize now that that is way to many. LOL but isnt it beautiful.

It IS beautiful! I thought I saw moonvine in there! I planted too many hyacinth beans on an arbor last year. It was pretty and a storm destroyed it in September... oh well. I like the look of full..

Heavenly Blue was my first MG, love that pure blue color!

Oh my gosh!!! You are most definitely doing something right!! Beautiful! And, you only planted 9?? Wow!

Hi Beck,

Thanks for the pic! It's lovely :) I have some of those seeds that I am planning on putting out next year. What time of year did you do your plantings, and were they plants or seeds?
I only have one MG, and I don't do a thing with it - it just shows up on it's own! I love it, but have to fight DH and the neighbors to keep it.

Thanks AuntB, Gerris

indiana_lily yes only 9 but remember there are also 9 moonflower in there too. But I dont know what is what and if the moonflower will bloom or not.

Hi again Sunny
It is worth the fight. Mine has over grown the gate. I keep winding in back, and I have even had to trim it. Ron helped me with a small problem. So I feed it 18-18-21 miracle grow and man did it go crazy. This afternoon I looked and there is tons of blooms getting ready. Oh my gosh I am so excited that I either want to stay up all night or get up early. LOL am I silly or what.

Thanks everyone

Beck, did you get some sleep? Or stay up and sleeping now? How fun. You will probably get moonblooms, too. They like to start blooming later than the mg's. Gosh, be sure to post when the buds pop, we'd love to see....

Not silly at all! My neighbor planted a moonflower that blooms 6-10 blooms a night, every night! (he's such a showoff!) Now I'm stalking it to see if I can figure out how to get the seeds...hehehe. I run outside every evening to snuffle the flowers (taking care to avoid the ants that seem to enjoy it too!) Between butterfly chasings for pics, flower snuffing and shaking my mater plants for pollination my neighbors probably think I'm daft. Good thing I work from home, otherwise I'd miss all this!!

Did you grow those from seed Beck, or plants?

Lucky you, Sunny. I'm stuck in the ofc :( - It will take a little while for the pods to dry and be ready. I don't care what the neighbors think! :) lala hmm hhmm just puttering around admiring stuff growing...

Sunny I bought them from a small mom & pop nursery there vines looks so long and healthy and I hadnt found any around here yet. Hopefuly I will get some seeds for next year. If not I will be on here juuuuuuust a beggin......LOL

And yes Sunny you lucky dog. I am a paramedic and I have 24 on 24 off with thur. fri. off as weekend. Last 2 shifts were lucky ones slept all night didnt have to get up not even once. And that is very unusual with my station. Usually up 3-4 times a night. Lucky if get 2 hr at a time sleep. I have came home many times on my suposed day off and slept all day.

I looked later last night and was very pleased to see that there are many buds on my vines. I cant wait. No pretties this morning though. My moons are white so I will definetly know which is which, when the blooms show off there beauty.

Beck, that looks like a morning glory/moonflower hedge! It's gorgeous. 18 is just the right number for that spot, and when they all start blooming day and night, you'll have a chance to see them whenever you're home. Great success with your first MG/MF. Congrats!

Here's the neighbor's luscious moonflower that I'm stalking - it had 10 blooms tonight. It's been doing this EVERY night now for a week!

Gotta get some of these seeds!!

And yes, I am very, very thankful that I was able to transfer with my job, and they set up a home office for me. It doesn't pay a whole lot, but it is such a blessing. I don't ever want to take it for granted :)
