CLOSED: Am I a Katydid?

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Is this for sure a Katydid? I read that they can sometimes be yellow or pink.
If he is a Katydid which species might he be?

he looks just like my broadwinged katydid, but mine are lime green. he is neat looking, but i would have to squish him, sorry!

Now Track ... tsk tsk ... ROFL!
Ain't no way I'd kill a Katydid. I've never had a problem with them. I especially wouldn't kill this yellow one. I found him last year on my Plumeria. I've never seen another Katydid of any color since then.

Would this Katydid be called an angular Katydid? Anyone know for sure?

Possibly an oblong-winged katydid (Amblycorypha oblongifolia), they also come in green forms :)

Thank you PanamonCreel :) It does for sure look like mine huh? I'll have to look into this further and make sure cause I've been known to overlook obvious differences in my bug id's ... hee! Can't be bright and beautiful too ... ha!
I did notice that FL is not on the map of its habitat at the site link you sent. Maybe mine snuck in with a tourist :) http://buzz.ifas.ufl.edu/007a.htm

seriously, they eat my cannas!

Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Well I'm not finding any differences. PanamonCreel can you see any differences comparing my yellow katydid to the picture at the link you shared?

This is the only other picture I have.

Looks like one and the same species. The shaded areas show major distribution according to reporting records but that doesn't mean they do not exist outside of these areas :)

i watched them. they only ate the canna musifolia, not the regular cannas. alright, no more squishing of the katydidn'ts.

I'm still wondering if the pink one is an embarrassed Katydid? ;)

I think she put on her prettiest katy dress in hopes of attracting that yellow male. I could have sworn I saw her bat those baby blues :) Probably she is a Katymight ;)
