Anyone else want "watering" info added to PF?

I use the PlantFiles constantly. The only thing I think was left out is the watering needs of a particular plant! I always have to go outside DG to find that info.
Does anyone else wonder how much water to provide for a certain plant? OR...is this info provided somewhere that I don't know of on DG?

I know it might be impossible to add this now, but I'm just asking.

Most categories have that information under 'Other Details' if the watering options have been added to the details.

Right off the top of my head, I know Iris, Clematis, Brugmasia, and Heuchera have the watering options available to be checked off.

The only one that I know of that doesn't have that option is daylilies. There may be more though.

When looking up a plant, look to see if there's an 'Other Details' category. That's where you will find the watering information if those details have been checked off.

The watering options that could be checked off are:

Drought-tolerant; suitable for xeriscaping
Average Water Needs; Water regularly; do not overwater
Requires consistently moist soil; do not let dry out between waterings
Very high moisture needs; suitable for bogs and water gardens

I've seen that as an option on all the types of plants I've entered into PF, just like Joan said it's listed under other details. Some plants don't have the info entered for them though--I'd encourage you if you have ones where the info is missing and you've looked it up elsewhere to go back and add it in (if nobody's entered anything in the other details section, you can add it directly, but if somebody's put something else in there already but not the watering info, you can use the Report an Error link to tell the admins about it)

I'm not understanding the "to be checked off" thing, Joan. Do you mean there IS watering info on those 4 plants you name or it needs to be checked off? I guess I'll just go to one of those and look. But there are 1000's of plants in the Files, yes? Okay..I'm going to check it out bc I AM confused! :)

I just went to the PF's...looked up Heuchera...the first one was "Alpine H" and there was nothing about watering. So...are you saying the info is lacking for those 4 plants you mentioned? Please clarify when you have time. Thanks.

Here's one that doesn't yet have that info checked off, so if you go into 'Other Details', you can check off the correct watering info. Then it will show up for others who look at that entry.

Once any details are checked off in a category though, the only people that can add other checks to that category are the admins.
