That nutrient would be the beer lol!!
It also helps you to think your doing the job right heh....

Patumthani, Thailand(Zone 11)

Robert, your seedling looks so healthy....Do you feed that plumie with Singha Beer too? LOL

Houston, TX

Clare what an honor to have a plumeria named after you, Congratulations!

Kukiat that is a beautiful flower!

Carolyn

Davie, FL(Zone 10b)

Lol yes Clare..
Funny Mike :)
Khaawp khoon khrap Doc...
The imported version of this Singha is not like the big bottles of the much stronger Singha in Thailand Doc as you know lol...
That seedling is one of many i planted from Aussie land..
I feed them with most of the stuff you see in that pic...
No matter what i mix together the PH level is always 6.5..
I find at this level most of the nutrients are active and ready for the plant...
I like to bring the Hydroponics world into the plumie world..
I do not use soil but coconut fibers and other soil amendments..
All my nutrients are mix with pure natural florida rain water which has a ph level of 6.5.
I collect and store 100+ gallons of rain water at all times..
That seedling you see in that pic was a baby only a few months ago as this shot with my phone cam depicts..

All my pics are label with the "Year" "Month" "Day" in the title..
The same seedlings few months later shot with my new digital cam..

...And now a few days ago i took these night time shots while putting them in bigger pots also that pic with all my nutrients and the singha..

Enjoy Clare!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thanks, Carolyn and Robert! Thanks so much, you guys. I am very honored to have such a beautiful flower named after me. You all are so nice.

Robert, that is amazing growth for just three months. Your photographs and seedlings are fantastic!

Patumthani, Thailand(Zone 11)

Nery and Carolyn, thanks for your compliment on the flower.

Robert, you are very good at it. With all those nutrients and your good care, your seedlings look very healthy and uniform. This can not be done without accuracy.

Most of my plumerias are planted in the ground. I normally use granular fertilizers and water them with the water that is pumped directly from the canal. The water pH is normally around 5 which is quite low. The soil pH is around 4 or so which is not the best condition for growing almost any plants. I use Dolomite to higher the level of pH a couple times a year. It seems that my plumerias do well under this condition but not as good as yours.

Robert, thanks for the compliment as well.

Thanks Clare i use this stuff for the first couple of weeks to get the roots going real fast..
http://www.humboldtwholesale.com/products/HG_Van_de_Zwaan_Roots_Excelurator.php

I feed them regularly with a mixture of Super Thrive,Mad Farmers Nuts and maintain my PH levels with the other 2 bottles of up and down..
This Up and Down is consider the best PH adjuster out there and all the hydro guys swear by it..
This stuff is so strong i can raise the PH level from 4.0 to 6.5 with just a teaspoon into a 5 gallon solution.

For my plumies that are near flowering or the first sign of a inflo i add this to their food..
Pretty cartoon like labels but i must say this stuff is tops!!

Thanks Doc coming from you that is quite a honor!
Wow a soil level of 4 you must get alot of rain in your area..
If i remember Thail soil is mostly clay..
My gardenias and Jasmines would love your soil :)
Doc you must use alot of Dolomite, looking at my reference cards it says you will need 23lbs per 100 square feet to change the soil (clay) from 4.0 to 6.5. lol i guess i wont use those cards for future reference anymore..
I am going to start using a PH level closer to 6.0 from now on i think..
Right before a plumeria flowers or shoots a inflo out she raise's the soil ph level by 1.0 this is how i can tell if she is going to flower soon..
Thanks again Clare and hopefully Doc can share some more pics of what he is growing in that wonderful Thai climate..
:)

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Clare,
Can't believe I missed this thread!! How exciting for you...and it goes without saying much deserved. What a stunning bloom she has!! You've got to be beyond excited!!!

kukiat,
How would you describe Clare's scent?

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

A BIT SWEATY AT THE END OF THE DAY!! LOL!! 8^D

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Bad Michael, B-A-D!!!

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

X^P

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Thank you, Chantell! I am beyond excited, and you are beyond sweet for saying that.

Michael, you are a bad boy!

Chantell, I think Kukiat said mild jasmine:-)

Plumiedelphia, PA(Zone 7a)

I Sowwy....... maybe.... heh...... X^P

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

LOL, so, now, if I say Mrs. Malestrom smells like...j/k!

Patumthani, Thailand(Zone 11)

Chantell, I am not good when it comes to the scent. In my opinion she (Clare Corre--I mean the flower) has mild sweet jusmine. But my wife said the scent is similar to Kimo. I think I have to rely on Clare now.

Robert, I think the chart is probably right. However the whole amount of Dolomite calculated should not be used to apply at one time. The soil in my area is mostly clay and very acidic. The acid is released gradually from clay particles. Thus only small amount of Dolomite should be used to neutralize the acid each time.

Great information on the raise of soil pH by 1 before flowering. Thanks for sharing.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Clare, your flower is bold, sexy, and adventurous just as you are. CONGRATULATIONS!! I love its color. Just gorgeous, Kukiat!!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

LOL, Kell, thanks so much! You're a doll. Kukiat has some amazing looking seedlings and is the future of hybridizing and is accomplishing great things. I am very proud to know him.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

And Kukiat loves you Clare, so we all know how good his taste is!

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Hugs and kisses to you, Kell:-D

Patumthani, Thailand(Zone 11)

Thank you so much, Kell. That is very nice of you.

Clare, Thanks for your compliment. In fact, I have to give all the credit to the insects in my garden. Those are the true hybridizers.

Ventura, United States(Zone 10b)

Ah, Kukiat, you are too modest! We all can see from your pictures that you are an amazing gardener, and that takes skill, knowledge, and love for plants:-) Can you tell that I'm your biggest fan?

Davie, FL(Zone 10b)

..i agree with Clare Doc!!
:)
