Hi all. I have some black eye susans, purple coneflowers and bee balm plus various others I would like to get the seeds of off my plants. Problem is I have no clue how to go about that. Completely clueless so is there anyone who would like to share their expertise with me? I would greatly appreciated it thanks.

Where do I begin?
Hi Cherie...I found this pretty good link about seeds. I'm just learning the seed saving stuff myself. Hope this helps some

Good luck with your seeds,

Thanks, Piggy--Clothier's write-up is really helpful to me--I love his info on germination, too.
I also noticed 'Horticulture Magazine' has an article this month on collecting seed "How to's" that is pretty good for beginners (like me). I got it from the library last week.
If you have time to read an interesting and entertaining DG thread (or two or three) Weezingreen's seed collecting sorties are educational and fun, too. She is a fearless and unintimidated seed collector!

I didn't read the last post - to many replies . Anyway , Take your old nylons and tie over top of flower to stop from losing seeds . For small seeds it can be a pain to remove them , but plastic zip lock bags can get a static charge that will / can pick up seeds then you just push off .
Buy a pair of tweezers or take 2 coffee stirrer sticks , put a rubber band-around the end of 2 , spread the 2 apart and slide a tooth pick in-between . Instant tweezers .
Thanx that sounds simple enough to me. I've CRS so can't be too challeneged.lol
