Am I correct on the ID of this butterfly...... female Nokomis Fritillary (Speyeria nokomis) ? I have had quite a time putting a name to this one.
location - Jackson Co., Oregon, USA (SW corner just above California).
Thanks in advance

CLOSED: Is this a correct ID ....Nokomis Fritillary ?
It does indeed look like the Nokomis Fritillary (Speyeria nokomis), although it does not appear to occur in Oregon. It is found not far away in the North-east corner of California.
Ken
not occuring in Oregon is what has gotten me stumped on the ID.
Maybe I just got one of those lucky shots of one that has lost track of where it is 'supposed' to be.
Thanks for the input ...
