Somebody told me it was, anyway. I've got them emerging from the ground in my yard..big things. Probably a couple dozen already. Anybody know insects and know what species?

Oh, by emerging I mean they are HATCHING and coming up out of the ground. Some are different...this one had just hatched when I found it. I'm beginning to wonder if there's any end to this!

One site says there are over 1,000 North American species of robber flies, with more than 100 species occurring in Florida, so...
