Is it a dragonfly?
CLOSED: Anyone ever see a blue "dragonfly"?
Definitely blue ones. I can't see the rest of it, there are a lot of them and you need to see the wings as well.

It is a damselfly, but don't know which one. Maybe my DH will see this post and ID it for you. I'll mark the thread to watch.

We have all colors here, especially down around the pond.

Yep, we have all manner of colors shapes and sizes of the dragons and damsels here, too.
I'd say a species from the genus Enallagma...commonly called Bluets.
That's amazing, thank you for all the info! It's the first time I've ever seen one. So pretty!
I saw one in my yard and had to research it - one site called it a common damselfly - I thought - how can something so vivid be called common.
Brenda
We have a lot of them here also.
To tell dragonflys and damselflys appart is easy
Dragonflys cannot close their wings but if you look at you picture the damselfly can
