Stokes Aster Seeds?

I may be confused, but it seems there are several different opinions or different times to collect Stokes Aster seeds. I would like to collect these from my plant but am really confused on what the true seed is. Please Help?! Thanks, Michelle

which aster do you have? I have stokesia blue. When the flowers are spent they then form a tight ball that ripens it is prickly when dried...the seed are inside the balls....they are not hard to find, but be careful of the prickly covering it can stick you pretty good....let me know if that helps, if not post a picture of the plant and I will see if I can help you figure this out...

That's what I have - so it's all those tiny things inside the dried pod that all look the same and there's alot of them in each pod?

yep..and they will grow just about anywhere you would like for them to grow, make a great border.
