I can see why this tree is nicknamed the lost camellia!

My Franklin Tree's Buds Opened!
Oooo... I have a seedlilng I started last year. I hope to plant it out
next year. How old is yours?
Tam
That's awesome Xeramtheum! I have a peony that looks like that, it bloomed exactly 4 days this spring. Hope your blooms last longer.
Nice! :-)
Thanks! .. the flowers apparently last just one day. I've had it for 2 years so it's probably 3 years old since it was described as a 1 year old plant in the Wayside Catalogue. I hand pollinated the 2nd flower just to make sure since they only last 1 day. If I get seeds, I'm going to plant every one since I have a greenhouse. So if everything goes like it should, I will probably have some for trade next spring!

Very kewl. What is it with the one day blooms?? Talk about fleeting.
